Jens and Poul Karlshoej

The Karlshoejs are a second-generation farming family with deep roots in the North State. The family began farming rice and tree crops in areas north of Sacramento, then moved south to Dixon a little over two decades ago. The Karlshoejs now own or co-own 825 acres of farmland in Dixon and produce, through leased farming operations, tomatoes, corn, nut trees, and alfalfa ground cover on their land.

Active Development in Dixon

Lewis Apartments is actively developing its first community in the City of Dixon. Located at the corner of North 1st Street and North Lincoln Street, Independence Rental Homes by Lewis is scheduled to open in Fall 2025. Lewis Apartments is a leader in the development of and management of rental communities in California and Nevada. Lewis has built over 13,000 apartment homes and is the proud recipient of the National Multifamily Customer Service Award for Excellence for the 17th year in a row.
